White

As you may have noticed, I have been hibernating for a while now, winter does that to me, but thankfully spring is almost here and to top it all of, I have been planning a friend's wedding. I will let you guys know a bit more about it later and what I am learning from it. One thing is for sure though, planning a wedding is stressful on the couple but with the right attitude you can get through it. Luckily, I am working with the best bride and groom a planner can ever ask for.

To start with a clean slate, I decided to do a post on the color white. Basic but beautiful!

At the ceremony

At the reception

I love the simple elegance and timelessness the color brings to centerpieces

The good thing about that color is that it can pretty much be paired with any other color as well as be used for any seasons

Another added bonus is that white linens are usually provided free of charge by the reception venue or the caterer.

Yellow

Right now I am having a love affair with the color yellow, probably because fall is upon us and am desperately trying to hold on to the last ray of sunshine.

So here is a little bit of yellow to brighten up your day

Groom Style

Am happy to report that 100% of voters believe that their future husbands have impeccable style, thus they can be trusted with their wedding attires. Since grooms are not built the same, here is some advice for the men in your lives.

Single Breasted---A jacket that meets in the middle with one row of buttons, and no overlap.

If you are short and husky built, choose 1 button tuxedo it will help lengthen your torso.

If you are taller (but under 5'8") and trimmer go for a 2 button with a narrow cut.

Choose a 3 button if your body type is athletic

For the tall groom (6' and above), a 5 button tuxedo will flatter your physique.

Double Breasted---Overlapping so as to provide a double thickness of material across the chest, and having a double row of buttons

If you are thin and tall choose a double breasted style for your tuxedo to define your shoulder, this style can also be chosen for the tall and heavier build groom; its the perfect fit to camouflage your midsection.

Cutaway---short in the front, long in the back, and tapering from the front waist button to a wide back tail.

This style will look good on any frame, especially on shorter guys because it gives the illusion of heights.

Tails---Cropped in front, with two tails in the back and a two- to six-button front.

Rounder and shorter men beware, this style can be unflattering for your body type.

So there you have it; add a little bit of confidence and the groom should look almost as good as the bride.

Please take some time to answer the next poll: When would you like to see your bride/groom for the first time?

Ring Pillow Revisited

Instead of having the ring bearer carry your rings on a pillow try one of these alternatives:

Seashells

Miniature green mums

Luhala leaves

Bird's nest
